The Infinite Scroll is a feed. You scroll, more of it appears. It never runs out, because there was never anything in it to run out of — every post is generated on the spot from a small rotating pool of equally forgettable non-events.
This is, the Bureau notes, functionally indistinguishable from several existing products.
A live counter at the top tracks the percentage of "all content" you have personally consumed. It increases with every post loaded, by an amount too small to ever meaningfully matter.
This is intentional. The number is real. It will also never say anything encouraging.
Periodically, the feed pauses to inform you how far you've scrolled, expressed in units nobody asked for — stacked giraffes, unspooled cassette tapes, Olympic swimming pools.
None of these units are standardized. None of them need to be. You will occasionally also be told you have reached the end of the internet. You have not.
